In February 2022, Sundance Vacations co-founders, Tina and John Dowd, made a monetary donation of $2,000 to the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank to support families in need.

The aftermath of the COVID19 pandemic left many individuals without work, which in turn, left families without necessary food, warmth, and security. The donation made by Sundance Vacations prevented several families from having to make life-altering choices during the harsh winter months. No one should have to choose between providing food or warmth for their family. Many families continue to suffer from the results of the pandemic, but the generous gift of a warm meal could make a world of difference to those who need it.

About the Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank

The Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank helps service non-profit organizations in the Luzerne, Lackawanna, Susquehanna, and Wyoming areas. The organization is located at 185 Research Drive in Pittston, Pennsylvania.

The Commission on Economic Opportunity’s Weinberg Northeast Regional Food Bank goal is to provide food to non-profit organizations to alleviate hunger and promote proper nutrition, particularly among children and the elderly. By collecting donations of wholesome but unmarketable food from the food industry and distributing it to these organizations, the Food Bank works to reduce hunger and promote proper nutrition in addition to preventing food waste. They have distributed over 13,625,024 meals to people in need.
