Forty Fort, PA. — Sundance Vacations was proud to be the presenting sponsor of the annual Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA) Do it for the Kids Walk-A-Thon for the fourth consecutive year.
The event took place on Saturday, April 22, and was a success thanks to the the WVCA volunteers and the generous donations from the community and local businesses. The purpose of this event is not only to raise support and awareness for the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, but for the children who benefit from the services provided.
The WALK-A-THON is a fun, family event with all proceeds going directly to support programs for our WVCA kids!
The event kicked-off at 9 a.m. at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, while the walk started at 10 a.m. There were light and variable morning showers, but they weren’t able to damper the energy of the event and an enjoyable Saturday-morning stroll.
Along with the walk, attendees were able to take part in music, food, face painting, games and raffles and even got to spend a little time with mascots like Tux, of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins and Hilda, from Turkey Hill.
The cost of the event was $25 per person, $15 for children 7–13, and free for children 6 and under. Teams were encouraged, and adult team members received a discounted rate of $20 per person.
