Supporting Wyoming Valley Children’s Association’s Therapy Programs

Sundance Vacations employees took a walk down the yellow brick road at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association’s (WVCA) “Journey to Oz” gala this past Saturday evening.

The Wizard-of-Oz-themed event was held at The Woodlands Resort in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and was organized to raise funds for the local nonprofit school.

Located in Forty Fort, Pa., the WVCA works with children who need therapeutic support by offering occupational, physical and speech and hearing therapies. In addition, they have preschool classes and short sessions to help children explore and develop with crafts, music and more activities.

Sundance Vacations Wilkes-Barre office employee Shawn Wall and Peter enjoyed a night out at the WVCA's Gala.

Sundance Vacations was the leading sponsor of the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association’s “Journey to Oz” gala!

Two Sundance Vacations employees attended the WVCA’s gala for a night of fun to help support these programs for children in Luzerne County, Pa.

The gala featured NY NY Dueling Pianos, an auction with many baskets donated from local businesses and friends of the WVCA and Oz-themed food and drinks.

Guests were encouraged to dress up like their favorite The Wizard of Oz characters too! There was a Dorothy, Scarecrow and some witches in the crowd, making it a playful night for a wonderful cause.

“It made me feel like a kid again,” Shawn Wall said.  Wall, was one of the Sundance Vacations employees who attended the event.  “It was the perfect theme for a benefit helping children.”

Donna Sedor, Director of Development at the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association, tells us that she is thankful that Sundance Vacations was their leading sponsor and that they could not help all the children they do without supporters like Sundance.

“On behalf of all of the WVCA kids, we want to thank Sundance Vacations for [its] support of our Gala and your continued support of the organization,” Sedor said.  “[Sundance Vacations] is helping us help children to walk, to speak, to hold a pencil and to interact with their friends. [They] are truly making a difference by helping us prepare them for kindergarten and a lifetime of learning. As the kids say, you Rock!”
