The Wyoming Valley Children’s Association held their ‘Salute to Seuss Gala’ on Friday, March 22, 2019.

WVCA’s Gala featured a dinner, an exciting silent auction and exciting live entertainment by Group du Jour. The evening also honored Kevin and Mickey Kane with the 2019 Making A Difference Award. This year’s Gala was also a special celebration, as it is WVCA’s 95th Anniversary! Tickets to the Gala were $150.00 per person, and the proceeds from this event play a critical role in providing needed materials, services and therapies for WVCA students.

The WVCA, which was founded in 1924, provides therapy and education services for children, including children with disabilities. According to its annual report, WVCA served 389 children last year.

WVCA Executive Director expressed how there are now more children enrolled with the association than any point in the organization’s history, and that their Forty Fort building will see renovations and expansions this summer to allow for new and better programs!

The gala had both parents and donors to The Woodlands Inn to celebrate and support WVCA. A ballroom at the resort was festooned with all sorts of Dr. Seuss themed decorations, including a fondue station pouring green fondue in reference of Dr. Seuss character, Sam I Am from “Green Eggs and Ham.”

Sundance Vacations participated in the silent auction.

Sundance Vacations donated an 8 night/7 day stay for the beautiful Myrtle Beach/Hilton Head, SC, which is valued at $1,500 to the silent auction!
