Jody Miller, son of Denise Miller, Associate Vice President of Marketing at Sundance Vacations, launched his racing season at the 2024 Pine Mountain HillClimb in Pineville, Kentucky. Driving his signature Sundance Vacations-sponsored car, he participated in the event held from Friday, April 19th to Sunday, April 21st at Pine Mountain State Park. Since starting in 2021, the Pine Mountain HillClimb has grown into a major event in the Appalachian Hillclimb Series and the East Tennessee Region SCCA, attracting more participants and spectators each year. This year’s event featured live music, food, games, and thrilling races.
Jody Miller, along with Ray Kochin, performed exceptionally well in their class driving a 2010 Honda Civic. Kochin secured first place with a time of 1:52, while Miller closely followed in second place with a time of 1:55. The Pine Mountain HillClimb’s challenging two-mile, 10-turn course includes a 650-foot elevation gain, adding to the race’s excitement and difficulty. Reflecting on the race, Miller expressed his gratitude, saying, “I want to thank Sundance Vacations for the sponsorship and helping us make this possible. Sundance has been a massive help for a few years now, and I can’t thank them enough.” Congratulations to Jody and Ray on this outstanding achievement!
In addition to the Pine Mountain HillClimb, Jody Miller has competed in the Flag Rock Hillclimb in Norton, VA, and the Giants Despair Hillclimb in Laurel Run, PA, among other events. We look forward to seeing more races from car #003 in the upcoming months!
