Wyoming Valley Challenger is a part of Challenger Little League Baseball. The league is run by a group of dedicated VOLUNTEERS. They donate a great deal of valuable time in meeting to conduct business year round, in addition to the work involved with setting up and conducting the games. They WELCOME anyone who wishes to get involved and help organize and run the league. It is rewarding.

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 5-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.

The Challenger Division was established in 1989 as a division of Little League to enable boys and girls with physical and mental challenges, ages 4-18, or up to age 22 if still enrolled in high school, to enjoy the game of baseball.

In a Challenger game, each player gets a chance to bat. The side is retired when the offense has batted through the roster. Challenger Division uses “buddies” for the Challenger players. The buddies assist the Challenger players on the field, but whenever possible, encourage the players to bat and make plays themselves. The buddy is always nearby to help when needed.
