Head Start is a program designed to aid child development. Created in 1965 as a part of Lyndon Johnson’s War on Poverty, the program is operated by local nonprofit organizations in almost every county in the country.
Sundance Vacations is a proud supporter of the Head Start of Morris County, New Jersey. Also founded in 1965, the organization now provides services to pregnant women and children from birth through 18 months.
They offer different programs for children ages 18 months through 3 years old as well as preschoolers ages three to five.
Head Start is one of the most successful Federally created programs. It goes beyond serving basic children care: it meets educational, social, emotional, and health needs of its children and their families.
In order to qualify for the program, families must meet the Federal Poverty standards for New Jersey. For more information on the qualifications for those in your county, please visit Head Start’s website.
