According to the American Heart Association, cardiovascular disease is the number one killer of women. Since 2004, the American Heart Association’s signature women’s initiative, Go Red for Women, has addressed the awareness and clinical care gaps of women’s greatest health threat, cardiovascular disease (CVD).

Yesterday, May 16, the annual Go Red for Women event was held at the West Shore Country Club for the Capital Region of the American Heart Association in Harrisburg, PA. Sundance Vacations held the title of Gold Sponsor for both the 2023 and 2024 events. Kristal Markle-Temons, president of Bossy Girl Leadership, led the campaign as 2024 Capital Region chairwoman. In attendance were the eight Woman of Impact nominees, Miss Pennsylvania Amanda Moore, heart attack survivor Desiree Brougher, sponsors, and invitees—all of whom celebrated 20 years of the Go Red for Women movement and over 100 years of the American Heart Association,
