In 1962 the doors opened on the brand new St Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
Founded by late entertainer Danny Thomas, the hospital has been helping kids for over 50 years now.
Thomas prayed to St Jude to help him with his entertaining career, in return he promised to build a shrine to the Saint. As his career excelled, he kept that promise, which ended up turning into the St Jude Childrens Research Hospital that we know today.
As an internationally recognized organization, the research hospital is pioneering both research and treatment of children’s cancer and other major disease.
Families that are helped by S. Jude Hospital never receive a bill for anything because the organization believes that all they should worry about is helping their child live.
St Jude Childrens Research Hospital was the very first charity helped by our Sundance Vacations Traveler of the Day Contest on Facebook. Louis and Michelle A chose to donate their $500 dollar prize to the Hospital in the name of their children, Aiden and Ryleigh.
